Yarnspinners
A Home For Aspiring Writers
Welcome to my website! My name is Adam DiMascio, and I am an amateur writer attempting to create a burgeoning community of other young writers and creatives from around the Jacksonville area, although submissions from everywhere are most certainly welcome. The primary purpose of this website will be as a platform to share and promote all forms of writing. Poetry, stories, screenplays, essays, and anything else your heart desires!

Our Mission
Fostering a Growing Community of Academics and Storytellers
One of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman, once said that a book is a dream that you hold in your hand. In my opinion, one of the most important aspects of storytelling is the ability to not only convey an interesting narrative that people want to hear, but also having the power to make a significant change in people's lives, whether it's on a small or large scale. Here at the Yarnspinners Literary Magazine, it is our fundamental belief that with each unique voice comes a unique story to be told, and sharing these stories can help us gain a better perspective of fellow members of our beaches community and better foster an identity of cultural and creative acceptance.
Our Monthly Prompts
Go with the flow or take your own path
Of course, you can submit anything you'd like to the website that you want to be considered for publication. But beyond that, our prompts, published on the 20th of each month, are designed to provide both inspiration and room for lots of creative liberties and variation. In the spirit of promoting unique voices, you are encouraged to approach each prompt as creatively and as originally as possible. Show us your voice!

Games
In a way, we are defined by our recreation. Whether it's playing video games with your friends until the wee hours of the morning or playing chess with your relatives, game playing is a fundamental part of the human experience. Tell us about a game of any kind. It can be a anecdote about how you learned checkers, a treatise on the literary value of Halo, or anything else you can think of. Game on!
